Last week was a weird one. Forty (who plays in Flagass), Cassandra, and myself met up to check out F.A.V.L. a punk rock band all the way from Italy. All the bands that played that night were rad as fuck.

The next night at subterranean was The Whigs. I've never heard of them, or had any idea what kind of music they played. But it was fucking awesome, all of their songs sounded like something you'd hear in a skate video.

Sunday was Pilsen Fest. I was coming home from the city where I stayed at a 4AM bar singing Outkast songs (which is hard to do when you're loaded on tequila), when pop sensation, DanTom, calls and asks if I want to go. Sweeney and Forty came with as well, and we were off to Sunday Funday with Avantist and homies.

Fernando forgot a stand for his vocal pedal, and we found him asking vendors for anything to spare before they had to play.

Maybe it was the beautiful weather, friends in attendance, or the smell of tacos, but their set was pretty sweet.

The fest was great. Seen a lot of familiar faces, and got to say hi to friends (and forgot to say hi to others because I'm dumb and awkward). We took an uber to millennium park where Wilco was playing. Me and Forty took a stroll around the park where we met Christian, a California native who was backpacking across the country. We hung out in a garden area smoking weed, and after sneaking around, found a way into the show. Everyone split off into different groups. Meeting strangers, drinking beers, and having a good time. It was a rad day, I hope to have more like that very soon.
